The Spanish Union of Tasters (UEC) announced the list of medals for the Baco awards, a competition aimed at wines from the latest harvest. The jury awarded Adegas O Castro the award for best new brand of the 2023 vintage for the Alma Gaia Vintage wine, a multivarietal white of Treixadura, Albariño and Godello. Two other references from the winery based in the municipality of Pantón, Alma Gaia Rosé and the white Alma Gaia Rebelde, won a silver medal in the latest edition of the competition organized by the UEC.

These are the only awards in Spain that are awarded exclusively to wines made in the most recent harvest. The brands participating in the last tasting – whites, rosés, reds, sparkling and sweets – must have been from 2023 . The competition is open to designations of origin, local wines and single-payment wines, but also to wineries such as Adegas O Castro that produce table wines.
